Well, it’s finally happened. Even though our channel is very careful about the music we use, a big record label has stepped in and bullied YouTube into threatening to delete Beat Down Boogie and all our videos. The kicker – we had multiple written permissions to use the music in question.
Despite that permission, The Orchard (aka The Orchard Music Group) filed a claim against our Really Really Long Dragon*Con 2011 Video. Don’t go looking for it – Youtube deleted … Read the rest

Several fans of Mario Warfare have asked us about our production schedule for upcoming Mario Warfare episodes. I wanted to take a second to share our insight on the film-making process. It’s a long process filled with lots of effort. Even for Hollywood films with a 100 million dollars, and 100′s of crew members working full time, it can take years to finish a film. We have like, 3 crew and work around our day jobs, lol. Here’s what we’ve … Read the rest

We just wanted to let everyone know that progress is being made on future episodes of Mario Warfare. In early March, we were gearing up for the first outdoor action shoot of Mario Warfare when we realized it was going to rain and snow all weekend. A few of my friends were headed up to Katsucon (an anime / media convention near Washington DC) so Brian (Toad) and I decided to check it out. I’m glad we did, because it’s a pretty fun con!
The location and host hotel are very scenic, as seen in this photo by … Read the rest

Wow. I’m really humbled by the support of our awesome fans and our new producers Sultan Saeed Al Darmaki, James Conason, and Cody D. Walton. Our Kickstarter was a success! We actually ended up going beyond our goal, which means in addition to new episodes of Mario Warfare, you’re going to see our leading man Matt Sumner rocking a Sailor Moon outfit!
While we’re in pre-production for Episode 3, we’re also in the process of fulfilling our more immediate … Read the rest

We get a lot of questions about our prop guns, which we get from www.ehobbyasia.com. They are all airsoft, which is a great option for film-makers. New aspiring film-makers can choose super-inexpensive plastic airsoft guns which look pretty realistic, but are usually lightweight and missing close-up details. Film-makers wanting a little more realism can choose full-metal airsoft guns. These versions are more expensive but usually have realistic weight (which is great for actors), moving parts, and … Read the rest

I have to admit, bashing each other with sledge hammers in Mario Warfare was every bit as fun as it seemed. Of course, this is because the realistic-looking sledgehammers were actually safe prop weapons made by http://www.specter-studios.com
When we started making action movies, we did a lot of stuff wrong. For one thing, we frequently hurt each other during fight scenes. At the time, we though really hitting each other would make our scenes more realistic. But it was very … Read the rest

Hey everyone, awesome news! We were approved for a Kickstarter. We’re raising funds to help make more episodes of Mario Warfare.
We’ve already made two episodes, but we’ve exhausted our personal funds. There’s actually a bit more story there.
About a year ago we started making a different version of Mario Warfare, for which we’d saved up a decent amount of budget from our day jobs. So many things went wrong with that production - bizarre unusual things like Micah … Read the rest
It’s been a long road to this episode. It’s a huge honor and relief to present Episode 1 of Mario Warfare! ENJOY!
We actually started a different – very ambitious – version of Mario Warfare a year ago, and ran into one bizarre problem after another. Eventually a string of back luck sealed the fate of that older version. We returned to the drawing board. We returned to our roots – a small cast and small crew working on an … Read the rest
