A fan favorite is back, now in beautiful Vimeo form!
ConTemporal is a steampunk convention in central North Carolina. This was it’s second year, so it’s a modestly-sized event. However it’s pretty dense with cool costumes, performances, and interesting vendors. The atmosphere is social and relaxed, which I really dug. I haven’t experienced much in the Steampunk community, but it makes sense that steampunk fans are pretty intellectual, creative, and able to present themselves formally – as that’s all part of the genre. I hope to make it to ConTemporal … Read the rest
Hey everyone, if you’re interested in seeing how our small crew makes films, here you go! Thanks to Mike Leonard for filming and editing our behind-the-scenes.
The title says it all. However, I’ll let you in on another secret. The location we’re at is owned by an industrial artist that used to live in Wilmington, NC. Wilmington is known for film productions, and the artist actually worked on the Mario Bros movie, making set pieces. The metal bench that the shyguys are hiding behind in this scene was actually in the Mario Bros movie!… Read the rest
Want to see 30 seconds of a future Mario Warfare fight, and hear some Beat Down Boogie news?
The big news is my employment is changing. I will be switching from my full-time corporate editing job back to freelance video work. This is going to leave me a lot more time to work on Beat Down Boogie and Mario Warfare. I had a great job, but Beat Down Boogie was like a full time job on top of it, and … Read the rest
Micah here. I had a wonderful time at Animazement, Raleigh NC’s own anime convention. To be honest I wasn’t sure about going, because despite having awesome attendees, AZ has fairly strict policies when it comes to film and video – which is what we enjoy doing. But I learned that some of my favorite convention buddies were coming into town – Kay from Elysiam Entertainment and Vash from League of Hot Geeks. I showed them the best places for … Read the rest
Several fans of Mario Warfare have asked us about our production schedule for upcoming Mario Warfare episodes. I wanted to take a second to share our insight on the film-making process. It’s a long process filled with lots of effort. Even for Hollywood films with a 100 million dollars, and 100′s of crew members working full time, it can take years to finish a film. We have like, 3 crew and work around our day jobs, lol. Here’s what we’ve … Read the rest

In early March, we were gearing up for the first outdoor action shoot of Mario Warfare when we realized it was going to rain and snow all weekend. A few of my friends were headed up to Katsucon (an anime / media convention near Washington DC) so Brian (Toad) and I decided to check it out. I’m glad we did, because it’s a pretty fun con!
The location and host hotel are very scenic, as seen in this photo by … Read the rest

Wow. I’m really humbled by the support of our awesome fans and our new producers Sultan Saeed Al Darmaki, James Conason, and Cody D. Walton. Our Kickstarter was a success! We actually ended up going beyond our goal, which means in addition to new episodes of Mario Warfare, you’re going to see our leading man Matt Sumner rocking a Sailor Moon outfit!
While we’re in pre-production for Episode 3, we’re also in the process of fulfilling our more immediate … Read the rest
We get a lot of questions about our prop guns, which we get from www.ehobbyasia.com. They are all airsoft, which is a great option for film-makers. New aspiring film-makers can choose super-inexpensive plastic airsoft guns which look pretty realistic, but are usually lightweight and missing close-up details. Film-makers wanting a little more realism can choose full-metal airsoft guns. These versions are more expensive but usually have realistic weight (which is great for actors), moving parts, and … Read the rest
